Abstract

The article highlights the role of the research laboratory “Ethnoculture of Western Podillia and adjacent lands” in the development of regional traditional culture and musical local lore of Ternopil region (regional and local dimension; partial study of neighboring regions); kobzarstvo and lyr-making of Ternopil region; folk choreographic culture of Western Podillia; modern trends in the development of theater culture, decorative and applied art, and the festival and competition movement. The results of the laboratory’s work in the indicated research directions are presented. The use of various research methods is highlighted, which makes it possible to comprehensively study the ethnocultural heritage of Western Podillia. Field research ensures the preservation of a living tradition, comparative analysis helps to determine the uniqueness of the region, and empirical methods allow the reconstruction and popularization of folk art. The use of these approaches is important not only for academic research, but also for the practical introduction of ethno-cultural heritage into the modern educational and cultural-artistic space. The contribution of the laboratory to the preservation and popularization of the ethno-cultural heritage of Western Podillia and adjacent lands is summarized. Scientific and creative cooperation of the laboratory with musical and choreographic collectives of Ternopil region, scientific and cultural institutions, and creative unions was analyzed. The research laboratory “Ethnoculture of Western Podillia and adjacent lands” carries out a comprehensive study, preservation and popularization of regional traditional culture, in particular music, choreography, theater and decorative and applied arts. Using various research methods, the laboratory not only analyzes and reconstructs the ethno-cultural heritage, but also integrates it into the modern educational and artistic space. An important aspect of the activity is cooperation with scientific, cultural institutions and creative teams, which contributes to the development and popularization of the traditional culture of the region.
