EGYPT DURING THE REIGN OF AMENHOTEP III

The article is devoted to the main events of the reign of the Egyptian pharaoh Amenhotep III, the 9th ruler of the XVIII Dynasty, especially to the main aspects of his domestic politics and international relations. The major attention is paid to the king’s religious policy. Amenhotep III tried to strengthen the cult of the sun god Ra at the end of his reign, as opposed to the cult of the main Egyptian god Amun.
