Abstract

The purpose of this article is to consider the beginning and the first stage of a local conflict – the war in Hungary in the period of 1526–1528, which had a great importance for all Europe and had crucial influence on the formation of boundaries and the balance of political forces in Central and Eastern Europe in the early modern times. In this paper was made an analysis of the flow of the conflict in terms of attracting to it as a third force the Kingdom of Poland on the diplomacy level. This was one of the reflections of the political confrontation between the Habsburg and the Jagiellonian dynasty in the first half of the XVI century. In this article was made an attempt to analysis the features of the Polish diplomacy in the war in Hungary and the Jagiellon’s ambiguity policy and its practices, taking into account the need to preserve its own dynasty influence and its position in the region.
