HISTORY OF FORMATION ANDDEVELOPMENTAQUATIC ANTHROPOGENIC LANDSCAPES IN TERNOPIL REGION

Abstract

We describe the history of aquatic anthropogenic landscapes in the territory of Ternopil region in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, from episodic drainingwith the help open ditches (recorded on the cadastral maps), creating ponds and reservoirs to systematic and well organized drainage reclamation under the guidance of «Provincial reclamation bureau» drainage and reclamation companies in Soviet times to creation of complex aquatic engineering systems by the beginning of XXI century.
