THE NESIOTIC LEAGUE AND DELOS

The article is devoted to the Nesiotic League – Confederation of Cycladic islands – and defining of place and role of Delos in it. The process of foundation and political organization of League by Antigionids was researched. Also the changes of League’s administration during the protectorate of Ptolemies in the Cyclades were traced. It was determined that after strengthening of Rhodes in the Aegean the Second Nesiotic League was fouded. It was defined that Delos was an important religious centre, where common festivals of the Confederation were founded. After organization of the Second Nesiotic League Delos became important as commercial centre.
