SCIENTIFIC STUDYING OF THE SCANDINAVIAN RUNES AS HISTORICAL SOURCE IN THE END OF XX – AT THE BEGINNING OF XXI CENTURIES

Abstract

The level of the academic interest to certain aspects of the Scandinavian runic inscriptions is investigated.Scientific studying of information opportunities of runic monuments made them a subject of monographic and dissertation achievements and the integral source in studying of related research problems on social history and historical geography of Eastern Europe. The accounting of successes and gaps of the runology researches are promoted by analysis of historiographic reviews. It is allowed to carry out original academic studios.
