THE PERIODICALS OF UKRAINIAN STUDIES ABROAD AS A SOURCE FOR THE HISTORY OF THE WOMEN’S MOVEMENT (1948–1953)

In the article there have been analyzed the materials of the periodical press of Ukrainian studies abroad as a source of history of the Ukrainian women’s movement abroad during the period of 1948–1953. It has been defined the main subject area of the articles. It has been investigated which women’s organizations were described in the periodicals. The article reveals the role of printed press for the studying of women’s organizations in emigration. It has been determined the main varieties of information for investigation of the women’s associations presented in the newspapers. Besides, there have been analyzed documentary photographs as visual sources because they are the main source for the women’s movement investigation. The materials of the articles are considered to be of great importance for studying of this subject area as they are one of the key sources on the problem.
