JOHANNES DANTISCUS – THE FIRST POLISH AMBASSADOR (1485–1548)

The purpose of this article is to examine the specificity of the diplomatic career of Johannes Dantiscus, who led the first official permanent Embassy of the Kingdom of Poland abroad. The main goal of this research is analyze of the effect of Dantiscus on the position of the Jagiellonian dynasty of Western Europe and on the formation of Polish diplomacy. On the basis of historiography and sources author disclosed objectives and tasks of diplomatic Dantiscus’s missions and their results.
