HISTORICAL ASPECTS OF THE FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF INDONESIAN DIPLOMACY

The article covers the evolution of the diplomacy of the Republic of Indonesia since the proclamation of independence in 1945 till nowadays. The genesis of the foreign policy of the country is being studied through the prism of the development of political regimes in the country. The contribution of the Republic of Indonesia to the global political process, participation in international institutions are analyzed. The influence of the individual, specifically each of the presidents of Indonesia, on the formation of foreign policy of the country is indicated. Both the advantages and disadvantages of the Indonesian diplomatic system are considered.
