The article is dedicated to the issue of US military supplies to Pakistan during the period of 1965– 1971, when two Indo-Pakistan wars occurred in South Asia. This aspect selectedbecause it was fundamental to US-Pakistani relations in this period, and the general course of that relationship was largely dependent on it. After analyzing the issue of military supplies, their parameters and conditions of their provision, the author tried to answer the question of whether the US-Pakistan relationship in 1965– 1971 can be considered as a "special allied" or such a designation was maintained by inertia after the first 10 years of active military-technical cooperation between the United States and Pakistan. While analyzing the available data on the issue under consideration, the author defined the role of American supplies in the Indo-Pakistani conflict of 1965, their influence on relations between the United States and Pakistan in the period up to 1971, various initiatives of Washington to modify an embargo, introduced in 1965, etc. Special attention was paid to the problem of the American tankspurchase, which wasn’t decided by the United Statesin a favorable way for Pakistan, despite the numerous requests of the latter. Also, the author examined the question whether American supplies were useful or harmful for Pakistan during its conflict with India in 1971.
