CULTURAL INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS IN THE CONDITIONS OF INTERSTATE CONFLICT

Abstract

The history of literature is in many ways military art, that is, the history of the war in artistic embodiment. Many key texts of world literature emerged as an aesthetic and social illustration of interstate conflict. The Trojan War provoked Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey’s dilogy. The Peloponessian Wars of Hellas spawned Aristophanes’ comedies, especially Lysistrata. The absorp- tion of Greece by Rome led to the comparative, Greek-Roman biographies of Plutarch. The Jewish war against Rome, described by Josephus, led to the appearance of the “Revelation” of John and everything connected with him.The wars between the Ottoman and Byzantine empires, the crusades, the permanent confrontation of England and France, the conflict of the new- borns of the North American States and maternal Great Britain — all this was reflected in the artistic discourse. In modern times, the era of the formation of political nations emerged, while these nations do not correlate with a particu- lar historically determined territory, language, state system, race and the like.In the disintegrated Soviet Union, the fate of the young states was very different as well as the fate of the disintegrated socialist camp.In each interstate military confrontation, the participants seek not only to achieve victory, but also to create the idea of absolute moral and even aes- thetic superiority over the enemy. The situation of recent years in the border zone of Ukraine was no exception.
