METHODOLOGICAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COMPARATIVE STUDY OF LITERATURE IN HIGH SCHOOL: B. LEPKY AND A. PUSHKIN

Abstract

The article deals with the information for literature comparative learning at higher school. The structure of the educational subject of the elective course for the students-philologists “Translation as literary reception” is characterized. It is argued the deductive expediency of introducing this course to the professional training of students-philologists with the aim of developing philological erudition, forming skills of the text comparative analyses, bringing up tolerance in the perception of foreign culture in its contrasting manifestations. It is revealed the practical experience of work connected with the comparative analysis of the translation and original texts based on B. Lepkyi’s Ukrainian interpretations of O. Pushkin’s poetry. Some aspects of translation as principle means of intercultural communication which draw together and enrich the culture of peoples are elucidated. The main problem of translation and the ways of overcoming them by the interpreter are analyzed in the work. The author draws her attention on the importance of the perpetuation of the writer’s style in the translation and the dominance of aesthetic function of the fiction. The principle of the interpreting activity of the Ukrainian poet B. Lepkyi is explained in the article.The author of the article emphasizes that in spite of some distinctive features in the interpretation of the poetic themes and images Bohdan Lepkyi did his best in the re- production of the inner world of lyrical character, his feelings, peculiarity of art form, emotional environment.
