Досліджуються функціональне призначення, інформаційні дані скандинавських рунічних написів у формуванні своєрідної скандинавської рунічної монументально-меморіальної традиції. Основна увага зосереджується на розгляді й аналізі: рунічних каменів як маркерів сімейних взаємовідносин, мотиву закріплення права на спадок, взаємозв’язку між замовниками та померлими, порядку успадкування спадкоємцями майна.
