FORMATION OF STUDENTS' LANGUAGE PERSONALITY AS A LEADING TASK OF LANGUAGE EDUCATION

The article deals with the formation and development of the language identity of pupils at Ukrainian Language lessons because this is one of the main tasks of modern language education in Ukraine. This article highlights the major factors that influence the formation of the language identity of students in the Ukrainian speech education. In particular author described the role of text, cognitive and communicative approaches, teacher’s Ukrainian language communicative qualities, the language environment, modern innovative techniques and methods of language training. The article is of interest to the main factors that form language identity. Amongst them mentioned and explained the development of communicative skills, the mastery of all four kinds of speech activity, the ability to build various types of texts, styles and genres of speech with all the components of the communication situation. The article is of great help to Ukrainian Language teachers and educators.
