FOLKLORISM OF DRAMATIC WORKS AND SHORT PROSE BY STEPAN VASILCHENKO

The article is devoted to multidimensional analysis of folk elements of dramatic and epic writings of Ukrainian writer, Stepan Vasyl'chenko, in early twentieth century. The folklore motifs of short prose and dramas, the folk imagery and tropic of artwork of the author are traced. The folk sources of creativity and folk inclusions in the author's text have been emphasized. The research focuses on the achievements of the playwright in a genre of the screenplay of rooted folklore works.
