LITERARY NOCTURNE GENRE DEVELOPMENT IN THE EPOCH OF ROMANTICISM

The article deals with the problems of the literary genre of nocturne foundation in European musical tradition (W. A. Mozart, Haydn, J.Field, F.Shopin) in the background of romantic worldview of the first decades of the 19th century. The main attention is drawn to the development of the literary nocturne in Ukrainian (T.Shevchenko) and Polish (J.Slowacky) literatures; as well as to the Eastern Slavic differentiations of the genre from the Western European patterns. Different thematic clusters of the nocturne lyrics in their connection to cultural, historical and social contexts are analysed. Musical parameters of the analyzed poetry (rhythm, tempo, instrumental arrangement) and the alike examples of the painting art (from T.Shevchenko’s legacy particularly) are outlined in analysis.
