ETNOTYPES IN HE VLADIMIR DANYLENKOS’ BOOK "STORM OVER TUROVETS: FAMILY CHRONICLES”

Abstract

The article deals with the Vladimir Danylenkos’ book "Storm over Turovets: Family Chronicles”, especially how the author reinterprets in his artistic worldview. The focus is primarily done on the images of historical figures, the originality of their images (hetman Ivan Samoilovych, Ivan Mazepa, Haydamaks’ leader Gonta and other figures). In the article was also considered a transformation f the characters through the imagology light. In most cases, the author uses stereotypes of the folk images, but he gives originality using historical generalizations and facts about the fate of Ukraine. The most widely are depicted etnotypes of Poles, Jews, Russian and, of course, Ukrainian people. The Ukrainian etnotypes acquire different imagological shades by delivering different eras and different regions of Ukraine in his works. Cossack era, Haydamak era, collectivization, war and repression of the twentieth century – all historical periods serve for depicting of human and national features of the images. In the article is considered imaginative of writers’ book in imagological aspect and outlined a number of issues for further interpretation of Vladimir Danylenko, in the context of national literature of different eras.
