POETICS OF BAROQUE IN HISTORICAL NOVEL YURIY KOSATCH’S «THE KHMELNYTSKY’S RUBICON»

Abstract

The paper deals with the Baroque style dominant in Yuriy Kosatch novel «The Khmelnytsky’s Rubicon». The place of work in the artistic development and in the literary process in the middle of the 20th century have been defined. The novel is characterized by syncretism which comprises combination of elements of Neoromanticism, Surrealism, Expressionism and Baroque. However, in terms of the poetics of the novel «The Khmelnytsky’s Rubicon» dominant Baroque style dominated. Poetics Baroque represented through a through religion. Person have been represented internally contradictory unity irreconcilable opposites – body and soul, forming opposition «foreign person» as an integral part of nature and society, person «internal associated with the world of the Divine and directed to the knowledge of the transcendental world . The struggle between «flesh» and «spirit» stands as one of the most important internal conflicts protagonist. Also, the historical novel Yuriy Kosach presented correlation Bohdan Khmelnytsky heroes of world history is presented. Bohdan Khmelnytsky's role in Ukrainian Caesar, the name of the novel «The Khmelnytsky’s Rubicon» alyuziyno points to appeal to antiquity, which is typical of Baroque poetics. In the novel «Khmelnytsky’s Rubicon» first appears demonstrative rare words. In particular, the frequency appear the words come from French, German and other languages, dialect, which are multi-layered meaning and produce well-defined and precise meanings. Among the artistic means it should be noted metaphor, allusion, amplification, comparison.
