UKRAINIAN SYNTACTIC CONSTRUCTIONS WITH PARTICIPLE CLAUSES IN POLISH TRANSLATION

Abstract

The article deals with Ukrainian syntactic constructions with participle clauses (imiesłowowy równoważnik zdania) translated in Polish. The aim of this study is to compare Ukrainian constructions in Polish translation, in which syntactic constructions are another than in the original text. The article gives a detailed analysis of simple and complex sentences with participle clauses. The analysis of peculiar polish constructions led to some interesting conclusions and observations (e.g. Ukrainian participle clauses can be replaced by different types of complex sentences or another components that are part of simple and complex sentences: adverbial+object, attributive+object).
