FROM THE BEGINNINGS TO THE PRESENT: HISTORIOGRAPHY OF CHILDREN'S DETECTIVE

The article deals with the problem of genesis of the children's detective story. Analyzed theoretical works of domestic and foreign literary critics, which provide the opportunity to follow the process of the formation of the genre canon: from the beginnings to the present. The activities of the «Stratemeyer Sindicate» are highlightened that helped to shape and formation of children's detective. The basis of this supposed genre defining feature of «classical» English detective, that is the core of the narrative is secret or intellectual puzzle. As a result of research were formulated the notion «children's detective», stages of development, revealed the main principles and features of detective prose for young readers.
