THE PHILOSOPHICAL AMBIVALENCE OF R.M.RILKE’S NINTH «DUINO ELEGY»

Abstract

The article examines the philosophical and spatial paradigm of R.M.Rilke’s ninth «Duino elegy». The significant factor of it is the ambivalence and the collision of such philosophical categories as life and death, moment and eternity. The emphasis is laid upon the interpretation of universality of Rilke’s artistic space which includes sensation of the universe, conception of the world, all variety of movements of thoughts, impulses, associations, the transformation and forming the philosophical and poetic concept of universal existence, «being» (Dasein), a sense of unity with the world and people. The article analyses the translations of the ninth elegy by V.Stus who not only kept a strong unity of Rilke’s philosophical wisdom, but transformed them excellently in translation.
