THE TECHNOLOGY OF FORMING THE BORDER GUARD OFFICERS’ PROFESSIONAL CULTURE IN A MILITARY HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION: EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS

Abstract

The article highlights the course of the experimental verification of the concept and technology of forming the professional culture of the border guard officer in a higher military educational institution. It has been identified that the concept as the leading idea of the research is a set of interrelated laws, principles, ideas and activities that are necessary for the formation of the professional culture of the border guard officer, and is revealed at three levels: methodological, theoretical and technological. The technology of forming the professional culture of future border guards in  a higher military educational institution is proposed to be considered as a set of techniques, methods of pedagogical actions and means that determine the organization of innovative activities, the target orientation of the educational process, the specifics of the interaction of a teacher and teaching subjects  which are necessary in the educational process to form the proper level of the professional culture of future border guards. This technology is a unique algorithm to put the  the concept   of professional culture of future border guards into practice. The technological level of the concept is described in details, concerning the identification and experimental verification of the formation technology of the professional culture of future border guards, which presupposes the gradual introduction of the pedagogical conditions, relevant content, forms and methods of formation and diagnosis of the professional culture.  The article outlines the content and procedural part of forming the future border guards’ professional culture at each stage, including the introduction phase, the formation phase, the actualization phase and the individualization phase. Enhancing the cadets' motivation to learn the professional culture of the border guard officer, acquainting them with the values of the border service, the border guard’s mission and the historical principles of the border security  is provided with the help of the special elective course «Professional culture of the border guard officer: history and nowadays». The course aims at developing cadets’ skills necessary for professional communication with the citizens at checkpoints, forming cadets’ skills in dealing with the information and counteraction enemy propaganda, improving knowledge on issues of leadership and management of the border units using research methods and others.
