NATIONAL AND PATRIOTIC EDUCATION AND IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT OF ORPHANS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE ORPHANAGE "PERLYNKA")

Abstract

The article deals with the problems of national-patriotic education, which is one of the major components of identity formation of the child, which grows without parents. It is especially important for orphans whose experience destroys the idea of ideological values. The spiritual, moral, nationalpatriotic and civic education environment that is established in the orphanage “Perlyjnka” is the basis for the formation of orphan as a socially active person, citizen and patriot. The permanent work with orphans, their observation and their daily training^ provide an opportunity to develop innovative programs of spiritual education, as well as their implementation, improvement and adjustments in their performance, analysis of their effectiveness. The innovative approach implemented in the orphanage “Perlynka” can provide the social adaptation of pupils, their high creative potential, assigning spiritual values. We have created the national program of patriotic, spiritual, moral and civic education that is the basis for the formation of an orphan as a socially active person, citizen and patriot. The basis of the methods of national and patriotic education in “Perlynka” is the formation of a positive image of the world, moral and ethical qualities: spirituality, honesty, justice, caring, courtesy, correctness, tolerance, and the ability to respect and understand other people and their needs. The program of patriotic education promotes the formation of patriotism as a spiritual component of the child's personality and is one of the factors of his readiness for social and personal self-realization. The efforts of the pedagogical collective are aimed to fostering for children the sense of national pride, love for the Motherland, its readiness to defend their country, the cultural and moral human values. And, of course, every child should be aware of himself as a citizen of Ukraine.
