Artificial Intelligence Policy
The editorial board of the publication "The Scientific Issues of Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University. Series: pedagogy" recognizes the possibility of using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the process of preparing scientific materials, provided that the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and author responsibility are observed.
This Policy defines permissible and impermissible areas of application of AI, as well as requirements for disclosure of information about its use:
- the author(s) are fully responsible for the content of the manuscript. AI cannot be considered an author or co-author of a scientific article;
- the use of AI does not exempt the author from responsibility for the reliability of data, originality of the text, correct citation and compliance with ethical standards.
AI is allowed to be used for:
- language editing, stylistic improvement of the text;
- technical translation;
- formatting the text in accordance with the requirements of the journal;
- auxiliary data analysis, provided that the results are verified by the author;
- creation of graphic elements, diagrams or visualizations (provided that the corresponding indication is provided).
All results obtained using AI must be verified by the author before submission of the manuscript.
The use of AI is prohibited in cases of:
- presenting AI-generated text as entirely authored without verification and processing;
- using AI to fabricate or falsify research results;
- creating fictitious sources, citations, or empirical data;
- using AI to manipulate review results;
- indicating AI as the author or co-author of the article.
In case of using AI, the author is obliged to indicate this in the manuscript in the “Acknowledgements” section or in a separate section “Use of AI”. The message must contain:
- name of the tool (e.g. ChatGPT, Grammarly, etc.);
- version (if possible);
- purpose of use (editing, translation, data analysis, etc.).
The editorial board has the right to request additional clarifications regarding the use of AI.
In the event of violations, the editorial board applies the procedures provided for in the Policy for Reviewing Complaints Regarding Violations of Academic Integrity and Publication Ethics.
